Black Painting May 2011
One of three cement tubes, parts of the oldest original NY City Housing playground in Manhattan, on Willett St in the lower east side, was painted black
during the day, with no permission. My action drew attention from the public and from City Housing security guards who agreed to let me finish painting
as I had already painted more than half.
The playground and the tubes were pictured in the 1949 propaganda film "For the living", produced by the New York City Television Production Unit for the
New York City Housing Authority
